Who we are
The Sheffield Perineal Repair Course is a one-day training course for doctors and midwives, held at the Postgraduate Medical Education Centre & Clinical Skills, R Floor, Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, Sheffield S10 2JF.
The course organisers are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. For any question about your information, contact the course administrator, Mr Robert Rumsey, at robert.rumsey@nhs.net or on 0114 226 8180.
What we collect and why
Course enquiry form. Your name, email address, professional role (optional) and your question. We use these to answer your enquiry.
Course application form. Your name, email address, professional role, chosen course date and fee category, telephone number, hospital or organisation, grade or job title, postal address, any dietary requirements you choose to give, and any additional information you add. We use these to process your application, contact you about payment, confirm your place, arrange catering, prepare course materials and your attendance certificate, and contact you about changes to the course you have applied for.
Please do not include patient information or your own medical details in either form.
Dietary requirements are optional. If what you tell us reveals information about your health or religious beliefs, we use it only to arrange suitable catering on the day, with your explicit consent, which you give by entering it. You can tell the course team instead of using the form, and you can withdraw this information at any time.
Delegates booking through MaxCourse. Yorkshire and Humber Deanery trainees book through MaxCourse, which has its own privacy notice. We receive the booking details needed to run the course.
Our lawful basis
- Applications and attendance: taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement with you, and performing that agreement (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Enquiries: our legitimate interest in answering questions about the course (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Dietary information that reveals health or religious belief: your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)).
- Payment and financial records: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
How the website handles your information
Form submissions are sent by email to the course administrator. The website does not keep a copy of your submission in its database. To prevent abuse, the website briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for 15 minutes to limit repeated submissions; it cannot be read back as your address.
Course fees are arranged directly with the course team. The website does not collect card or bank details.
Who we share it with
- The course faculty and administrator, to run the course.
- The venue and catering provider, limited to names and dietary requirements where needed.
- Our website host (GoDaddy) and email services, which process data on our behalf.
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing unrelated to the course.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Applications and attendance records: 6 years after the course, so that we can keep financial records and confirm attendance certificates.
- Dietary information: deleted after the course date.
Cookies and analytics
The website sets no cookies unless you choose to allow them. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records anonymised information about how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, so we can improve it. Analytics does not run until you accept. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page. Your choice is remembered for six months in a cookie called sprc_consent.
If a page embeds a video from YouTube, it uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode: YouTube sets no cookies until you press play, after which Google’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and in some cases to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Contact the course administrator using the details above.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if how we use your information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
